METAL FIREPLACES

“For fire to remain a pleasure…”

You can explore our selection according to the location of your future Fireplace inside your room.

ACCORDING TO THE VOLUME OF THE ROOM AND TO THE STYLE OF THE HOUSE, WE MANUFACTURE HOODS AND FIREPLACES TO MEASURE.

Unique pieces for unique interiors.
Hoods are grouped into several families of generic shapes:
GALBÉES / BRISÉES / CONIQUES / PYRAMIDALES / SPHÉRIQUES / DROITES…

Bases are often matched to the fireplace. We naturally suggest steel bases, but according to design bases can be masonry, or with a freestone or glass facing, for example.
We can create closed Fireplaces, by fitting our hoods with bespoke closed fireplaces. We naturally offer our own fireplaces, but we can also build a Fireplace around any standard-issue closed fireplace.
Materials such as glass, stone and finishing facework are not systematically supplied by us.
Local fitters are more apt at procuring such finishing materials locally.

Our burners

Most of our Fireplaces can be fitted to burn a variety of fuels, for practical or technical reasons, or out of choice.

BoisWood logs : – Mankind’s prime fuel, wood remains a treat for all of our five senses. Our Fireplaces can be fitted according to preference with heatproof steel, a cast-iron grate and an ash pan, or else with refractory bricks to resist the fire’s intense heat.

gazOpen gas fireplace – Most of our Fireplaces can be fitted with a pipe burner, provided the hearth is open. Our modular gas burners are suitable for different shapes, and can burn natural gas or propane. They are entirely automatic and come with a remote control.

ethanolEthanol – If your room is without a flue, we can fit one of our chimeyes with an ethanol burner. They combine the modernity and safety of electronics with a highly decorative flame.

electriciteElectricity Electricity – Our electric burners are decorative only! They provide a wood-fire imitation, with light plays and steam, providing a warm convivial atmopshere, but without supplying any heat. They are an ideal proposition for places open to the public.

Our Finishes

We manufacture our Fireplaces in steel. It should be noted that steel sheet never features a uniform aspect. It always displays marks, streaks or marbling, as well as micro-scratches. Among the batches we receive we select the finest or the most uniform sheets.

We offer a variety of surface finishes:

finitionWaxed raw steel with apparent welding joints: Piros’s emblematic finish!
After manufacture, the steel is left bare, without sanding or painting. It is just degreased and waxed. This finish’s distinctive feature is that is shows the mark of the boilerworkers’ craft, exemplifying our know-how and revealing the process whereby the raw steel sheet was shaped: marks left by handling, by rolling, by grounding clips, lighter or heavier welds. Thus each Fireplace shows traces of its manufaturing steps and of the working by hand of the steel by our boilermakers. A proof of authenticity as is were.

finitionWaxed rusted steel Rust is the result of a natural phenomenon. What we do is just start a rusting process, keeping it up for the time required to reach the expected finish. As each individual sheet of steel has its own characteristics, it is impossible to control the final rusted effect. The steel will show random lighter or darker stains, rust lines, or more or less marked and harmonious moiré effects. Tones can vary from orange to brown-black. Waxing finishes off the colour, toning down the marks left by water. There are lighter and darker hues. Added to this comes the patina that makes the Fireplace become a little darker over time.

finitionHeat-resistant paint : L’acier est poncé, dégraissé puis passé en cabine de peinture et enfin mis en étuve. The steel is sanded and degreased, then cabin-painted and oven-baked. Some fifteen heat-resistant colours are available. The most popular colours are classic matt black and anthracite grey, thanks to their elegance and unobtrusiveness – but it is well worth considering other colours, such as Mojave Red or Forest Green. Please do enquire. This is an anthracite-grey Fireplace.

“Pointed-end” Shape"

This composition of curving, funnel-shaped lines, asymmet¬rically ending with a pointed end, and carefully avoiding any straight lines, gives this Fireplace a slender, aerial aspect overall, enhanced by the design’s great sureness of touch. The whole Fireplace is reminiscent of a sail swollen by the wind.

"Vortex"

Halfway between Fireplace and stove, this appliance looks like and is installed like a stove without masonry. But it can receive 50-cm logs like a Fireplace. Its varnished rusted steel front opens with a hinge giving access to a large cast-iron combustion chamber and allowing easy loading. The fireplace’s body is coated with grey or black heat-resistant paint. The front can be varnished rust, waxed sanded, or painted in a choice of six heat-resistant paints.
